Hello! I’m Portia – an experienced Marketing, Public Relations and Administration freelancer.
I’m a proactive and smart worker who can offer your business the support it needs to grow and succeed.
I left my job as a PR & Marketing Executive to set up Octopus Small Business Solutions and I now work from my home on the beautiful Somerset/Dorset border. However, I work virtually, so wherever you are please feel free to get in touch.
My Career and Experience
I have been managing administration demands from the early days of my career. Which is where my love for a paper to-do list and my ability to multi-task like nobody’s business was born!
The skills and knowledge I gained as an Administrator and Marketing Coordinator were a valuable foundation for my move into a role as a Public Relations & Marketing Executive.
I am fortunate enough to have gained experience in a variety of Marketing and PR, Copywriting and Social Media activities. And, I have worked with some well-known brands and titles; Grand Designs, Restoration Man, DIY SOS, Real Homes, Hitachi, Knauf and Nu-Heat Underfloor Heating & Renewables.
I have briefed, developed and project managed many marketing projects, including; brochure redesigns, online films, infographics, product launches, new websites and case studies. And managed and advanced effective programmes of exhibitions and events.
In addition, I have also proposed and delivered online and offline PR opportunities by effectively communicating brand messages to the public, target audiences and the media.
